Day 1; Off to San Francisco!

May 24th, the day is finally here. We get up early, to make sure we get to Schiphol on time. We have a connecting flight in Frankfurt, and we're a little worried we might miss it. Every single flight to Frankfurt on the signs in Amsterdam is/was delayed by at least an hour! Luckily we were on the one flight that left on time. We landed in San Francisco around 3:30 PM. Next step: try to get into the country. There was a line for US-citizens and a line for "Other", marked on the floor and the ceiling. Easy enough, right? After about 15 minutes in this line, an airport employee came to inform people that the lines were switched, and we were in the wrong line. Great... So, out of this line, and into the next line. By 6 PM we had finally made it through. We got an Uber to our hotel across the Dragon's Gate. There was hardly any traffic, the driver kept saying. After putting our bags in the room we still went outside to explore the area a little and grab a bite to eat. By 9:30 PM I'm pretty sure we were very much asleep.
